They put the hurt on Eagle Academy III with a sharp 76-50 victory on Thursday. That looming 76-50 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Bowne yet this season.
Bowne's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Darrel Taylor, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Taylor has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Khaleel Williams-Mitchell, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
The victory (which was Bowne's third in a row) raised their record to 7-1. As for Eagle Academy III, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bowne will finish 2023 at home by hosting Wagner at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Wagner has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 326 points over their last five contests. Eagle Academy III will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Construction at 1:30 p.m. on January 20, 2024.
