The La Salette Academy Lions came tearing into Saturday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Clifton Central by a score of 53-40. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, as La Salette Academy did.
La Salette Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Eamon Martin out in front who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. John Brauner was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Clifton Central still got an impressive performance from Aidan Podowicz, who scored nine points along with five assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Logan Fritz, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
La Salette Academy is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Clifton Central, they dropped their record down to 14-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
