Locust Fork has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Gaston Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Locust Fork has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 431 points over their last eight contests.
Last Friday, Locust Fork got themselves on the board against Southeastern, but Southeastern never followed suit. They blew past the Mustangs 49-0 at home. Fans of Locust Fork have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
"dino" Dylan embry got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. Dylan embry is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Jalon Boatright also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Gaston's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. Their tough 28-8 loss to Cleveland might stick with them for a while.
Locust Fork's victory was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.6 points per game. As for Gaston, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
Locust Fork took their win against Gaston in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 35-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for Locust Fork since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
