The Hoehne Farmers will be playing at home against the Del Norte Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Hoehne ended up a good deal behind Fowler and lost 53-39. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hoehne in their matchups with Fowler: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Hoehne saw an underclassman step up: Jayson Guzzo almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bobby Terry, who scored four points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Meanwhile, Del Norte's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Crested Butte, falling 64-36. While losing is never fun, Del Norte can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while Crested Butte is ranked 118th).
Hoehne's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Del Norte, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
Hoehne skirted past Del Norte 43-40 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will Hoehne repeat their success, or does Del Norte have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
