Meanwhile, Everglades narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Pembroke Pines Charter 4-3.
Ryan Soto made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (he also didn't allow any walks). Soto was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Diego Gonzalez was incredible, going 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI. Adrian Martinez was another key contributor, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
