Basketball Recap: Whitney Driggers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead South Davidson over North Rowan

South Davidson lost against North Rowan back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The South Davidson Wildcats came up short against the North Rowan Cavaliers, falling 62-40. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Whitney Driggers, who posted six points and ten rebounds. Driggers is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Anna Smith, who had ten points.

North Rowan had a senior duo take command as Allanah McAuthur posted 20 points in addition to five boards and three steals and Krisstyle Stockton almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dasia Elder, who put up ten points and five rebounds.

South Davidson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for North Rowan, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Davidson will welcome North Moore at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Davidson is facing North Moore at the right time seeing as North Moore is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for North Rowan, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Central Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Rowan will also cruise into their next matchup with the timing on their side: Central Davidson will have lost four straight heading into Wednesday's game.
