The Newberg Tigers will take on the Glencoe Crimson Tide at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Glencoe took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Newberg, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Newberg turned things around against Liberty on Tuesday. They never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The Tigers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15th (when they won 24-9).
The result came thanks to Gracie Spry's shutout, as she gave up just five hits.

On the hitting side, Delainy Willard was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Kitchen, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Newberg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty only managed four hits.
Meanwhile, Glencoe faced Forest Grove in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Crimson Tide fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 2-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Lexi Brester was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Glencoe saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Marion, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.
Glencoe's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6. As for Newberg, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
Newberg suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Glencoe in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
