It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Ariton Purple Cats can now relate to. They fell to the Yellowjackets 65-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Ariton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matthew McNair, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Lawson Leger was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Ariton's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-8. As for Abbeville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-9-1.
Ariton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Abbeville also has no future games currently scheduled.
