Rivercrest (Wilson, Ark.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 41-26 win over
Harrisburg (Ark.).
The Colts put up 14 points in the opening quarter. Rivercrest scored on a touchdown run by
Chris Johnson and a Johnson touchdown run.
After taking the lead on a Johnson touchdown run in the first quarter, RHS was up 27-12 at the half.
The Wilson school saw its 15-point halftime lead decrease to nine entering the fourth.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 41-8 win for the Colts.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Rivercrest, which was coming off a 22-7 defeat at the hands of Gosnell in its previous game. The loss was the fourth in a row for the Hornets.
In a 3A Region 3 game next week Harrisburg (0-4) takes on Osceola, and Rivercrest (2-2) will go up against Hoxie also in a 3A Region 3 game.
