Highland took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). Everything went their way against the Flatirons Academy Bison as the Highland Huskies made off with a 30-7 victory. John Bingley had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 63 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns. A healthy portion of that aerial production (88 yards to be exact) went to Shane Sverak Jr., who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Highland was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 451 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Flatirons Academy only gained 68.
Highland will face off against Platte Canyon at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Flatirons Academy, they will take on Limon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
