If the Monrovia Bulldogs were feeling good off their 74-26 takedown of the Eminence Eels last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Monrovia took a 66-51 bruising from Danville on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Monrovia in their matchups with Danville: they've now lost four in a row.
Monrovia's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hayden McCloud, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tucker Rahn, who scored 14 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Danville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lukas McMahon, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Scrafton, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds.
Monrovia's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Danville, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monrovia will take on Cascade at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Cascade focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Wednesday. As for Danville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Bethesda Christian at 8:00 p.m.
