The Mifflin Punchers will head out on the road to challenge the Centennial Stars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Mifflin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Mifflin was the victim of a tough 64-39 defeat at the hands of the Bears. Mifflin was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-13.
Despite their loss, Mifflin saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Bj Woody, who scored six points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Tariq Johnson, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Centennial, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-33 loss to the Panthers on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Centennial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 658th, while the Panthers are ranked 318th).
Mifflin's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Centennial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
Mifflin strolled past the Stars in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 65-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mifflin since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
