The Liberty Christian Academy Heat scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Epiphany at home to the tune of 70-41. The victory was just what Liberty Christian Academy needed coming off of a 64-42 defeat in their prior contest.
Leading Liberty Christian Academy to victory were Mark Bachmann and Luke Cavanuagh. Bachmann scored 22 points along with five assists and three steals, while Cavanuagh dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds. Cavanuagh also grabbed two+ steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Lucas McCraney, who scored nine points.
Liberty Christian Academy's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Epiphany, they bumped their record down to 3-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Liberty Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oakwood at 6:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Oakwood comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Epiphany, they will head out on the road to face off against East Carteret at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Carteret is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
