Marian is 9-1 against Regina since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Marian Mustangs will be playing at home against Regina at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Marian is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Regina in Michigan (Marian is ranked 122nd, while Regina is ranked 289th).
Marian had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Divine Child with a sharp 47-22 win on Wednesday. Marian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 25 points or more this season.
Mckenzie Swanson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Molly McLeod was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Regina came up short against Gabriel Richard on Wednesday and fell 40-28. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Regina has scored all season.
Marian now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Regina, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-7.
Marian didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Regina in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 55-49 win. Will Marian repeat their success, or does Regina have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
