The Millard North Mustangs came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 86-35 win over Lincoln Northeast. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-20.
Millard North was led to victory by Derek Rollins and Neal Mosser. Rollins dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Mosser scored 17 points along with two steals. Rollins has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Urbanek, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Several Rockets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marshawn Jefferson, who scored three points. Another player making a difference was Kaden Coon, who scored three points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Millard North pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.8 points per game. As for Lincoln Northeast, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Millard North on the road again on Friday and play against Curie at 4:00 p.m. on January 19th. Curie is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Lincoln Northeast, they will be playing at home against Lincoln East at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Allowing an average of 58 points per game, Lincoln East has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this game.
