The Meridian Mustangs took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They were the clear victor by a 45-22 margin over Dorchester. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Meridian also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Dorchester lost, one person who can't be blamed is Andy Drake. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Meridian's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Dorchester, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Meridian will head out on the road to face off against Nebraska Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Dorchester, they will be playing at home against High Plains at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
