The DC International Dragons were the 58-56 winner over the Dunbar Crimson Tide when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. DC International took a serious blow against Dunbar on Tuesday, falling 72-34. DC International's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Despite the defeat, DC International had strong showings from Gavin Moore, who scored nine points, and Jhalil Route, who scored eight points.
It was another big night for Jordan Russell, who scored 18 points for Dunbar. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. Jamir Newell was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
DC International has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Dunbar, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
DC International is on the road again on Saturday and play against Avalon at 1:00 p.m. on January 6th. Avalon is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Dunbar won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ballou at 7:30 p.m. on January 3rd. Ballou is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.3 points per game.
