Master's Academy has gone 9-1 against Morningside Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Master's Academy Patriots are taking a road trip to face off against the Morningside Academy Eagles at 3:00 p.m. One thing working in Master's Academy's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five contests.
Master's Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Master's Academy was the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy on Friday. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by ten runs or more this season.

Nola Matz spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Alison Viersma was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Phoenix Henderson, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Morningside Academy's undefeated season came to an end after five games on Thursday. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lincoln Park Academy. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Leigha Race was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and seven unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Trinity Richards and Madison LeVasseur did some serious damage despite the final result: Richards scored a run while going 2-for-3, while LeVasseur got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Even though they lost, Morningside Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .553 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Master's Academy pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Morningside Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Master's Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .502. However, it's not like Morningside Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .680. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Master's Academy might still be hurting after the 18-3 defeat they got from Morningside Academy in their previous meeting back in February. Can Master's Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
