In what's become a running theme this season, the Tocoi Creek Toros gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 59-29 win over Calvary Christian Academy. Given Tocoi Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Calvary Christian Academy is ranked 280th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tocoi Creek was led to victory by Audrey Beyer and Gabi Iturralde. Beyer scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Iturralde scored 19 points along with four steals. Iturralde continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kathryn Moeller, who scored no points along with 11 rebounds.
Tocoi Creek has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tocoi Creek will take on Menendez at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seabreeze at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
