Evergreen Valley is 0-5 against Willow Glen since March of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. The Evergreen Valley Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Willow Glen Rams at 11:00 a.m. Evergreen Valley is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
On Thursday, Evergreen Valley made easy work of Del Mar and carried off a 9-1 victory. Considering the Cougars have won three matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Logan Burton

| 03/04/25 @ Leigh | 2 |
| 02/26/25 @ Capuchino | 2 |
Logan Burton was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while going 2-for-3. Those runs were his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Vince Garcia, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Oscar Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.
Evergreen Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Del Mar only posted an OBP of .345.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Willow Glen, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against Palo Alto by a score of 8-3 on Wednesday.
Spencer Bartlinski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Bartlinski was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Willow Glen: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise.
In other pitching news, Nolan Wirtz looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Ray Walsh was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2. Marco Madsen was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4.
Evergreen Valley now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Willow Glen, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Evergreen Valley has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Willow Glen struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Evergreen Valley couldn't quite get it done against Willow Glen in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 as they fell 6-2. Can Evergreen Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
