On the hitting side, Ava Fortlage was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Annabelle Macdonald, who went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
Thales Academy Rolesville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .594. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Neuse Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against the Bulldogs.
Neuse Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Baylie Vannatta, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Vannatta has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Chloe Barham was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
With the victory, Thales Academy Rolesville broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-7. As for Neuse Christian Academy, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 4-8-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. However, it's not like Neuse Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
