The Big Bear Bears can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They breezed by Hesperia Christian on the road to the tune of 76-33. The win was nothing new for Big Bear as they're now sitting on nine straight.
Big Bear was led to victory by Brennen Berge and Levi Rufner. Berge dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten steals, while Rufner went 9 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 1 assist. Berge has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nathan Cole, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
Arlan Koester and Ethan Flores certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Koester dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Flores scored eight points along with six rebounds and four blocks. Koester is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season.
Big Bear is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Hesperia Christian, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Big Bear will take on Academy for Academic Excellence at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Academy for Academic Excellence is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. Hesperia Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Academy of Careers & Exploration at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Academy of Careers & Exploration has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 220 points over their last three contests.
