Thayer Central fell 41-33 to David City on Saturday. Thayer Central has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Despite the loss, Thayer Central still got an impressive performance from Natalie Tietjen, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tietjen has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Piper Havel, who scored five points along with three steals.
Thayer Central struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Thayer Central's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5. As for David City, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thayer Central will take on Milford at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for David City, they will be playing at home against Cross County at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
