Given Casa Roble's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Argonaut is ranked 507th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Casa Roble was led to victory by Benny Ambriz and Moses Oginni. Ambriz scored 23 points along with 7 rebounds, while Oginni dropped a double-double on 20 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ambriz has scored at least 25% of Casa Roble's points. Travis Remly was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
When it comes to explaining why Argonaut lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mitchell Mcmahan. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was Mcmahan's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ryan Duran, who scored 8 points along with 3 steals.
Casa Roble's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Argonaut, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Casa Roble's road trip will continue as they head out to face KIPP SF College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on December 2nd. As for Argonaut, they will face off against San Juan at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. San Juan is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
