Polk County won the last time it faced Chase, and things went their way on Friday, too. Polk County came out on top in a nail-biter against Chase, sneaking past 31-28. The margin of victory was a little narrower than expected seeing as Polk County is ranked 195 places ahead of Chase in the state rankings.
No one had a larger role in the success than senior Avery Edwards, who brought his A game into the match. He picked up 115 yards on the ground and threw 1 TD. This was the first game for both teams, giving Polk County a 1-0 record and starting Chase off at 0-1.
Next week, Polk County take on National Christian Academy at Polk County 12th Man Night at 7:30 PM. As for Chase, they will face of against Cherryville.
