Softball Recap: Academy of Notre Dame Takes a Loss

After flying high against Norfolk County Agricultural on Friday, Academy of Notre Dame came back down to earth. The Lancers took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hopedale Blue Raiders on Sunday. The Lancers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Raiders from their previous meeting back in April of 2015.

Academy of Notre Dame saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caitlin Lafontaine, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run was Lafontaine's first of the season.

Academy of Notre Dame's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Hopedale, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Academy of Notre Dame nor Hopedale have any future games scheduled.
