Cheney RVT is 8-2 against Goodwin Tech since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Cheney RVT Beavers will stay at home for another game and welcome the Goodwin Tech Gladiators at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Cheney RVT is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Goodwin Tech in Connecticut (Cheney RVT is ranked 22nd, while Goodwin Tech is ranked 95th).
Cheney RVT put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 77-34 victory over Avon at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-13.
Dam'nic Gittens was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Dazhaun Copeland, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Goodwin Tech lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Saturday was a bit more commanding. They suffered a rough 70-50 defeat at the hands of New Britain. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Goodwin Tech has suffered yet this season.
Cheney RVT pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Goodwin Tech, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4.
Everything came up roses for Cheney RVT against Goodwin Tech in their previous meeting on January 2nd as the squad secured a 94-41 win. Does Cheney RVT have another victory up their sleeve, or will Goodwin Tech turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
