The Pine Forest Trojans struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Friday (the Overhills Jaguars were 26% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Pine Forest fell 49-37 to Overhills. Pine Forest has struggled against Overhills recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Pine Forest lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chloe Wilson. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Wilson hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Janaea Conley was another key contributor, scoring four points along with four steals.
It was another big night for Eva Mcrae, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds for Overhills. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mcrae has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadyia Davis, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.
Pine Forest has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Overhills, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine Forest will take on Purnell Swett at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Purnell Swett is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Overhills, they will head out on the road to face off against Terry Sanford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Terry Sanford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
