Charlotte Christian is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Cary Academy on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. South Charlotte's win came from a few key players Charlotte Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Caroline Gidney, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in February. Mya Aitchison was another key player, putting up 16 points and six boards.
South Charlotte was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've passed the ball that well.
South Charlotte's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.7 points on average over those games. As for Charlotte Christian, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Charlotte Christian has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 22 rebounds per game.
