The Westhill Warriors came tearing into Thursday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Cortland 69-50. Given Westhill's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Purple Tigers are ranked 579th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cortland's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Caden Albright, who scored 17 points, and Antonio Terrazas who scored 12 points. Terrazas continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Damauri Bell was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Westhill's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.7 points per game. As for Cortland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
Westhill will head out on the road to face off against the Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chittenango will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Cortland, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Cyclones at 1:30 p.m.
