The Eagle Ridge Academy Warriors scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against The Academy and snuck past 68-65. The win was just what Eagle Ridge Academy needed coming off of a 84-33 defeat in their prior matchup.
Aiden Wanrow continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a triple-double on 29 points, 19 rebounds, and nine blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Isaiah Garcia was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven assists and four steals.
The Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Trey Boychuk, who scored 28 points along with two steals, and CJ Hernandez who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Hernandez also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Lamar, who scored three points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Eagle Ridge Academy's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6. As for The Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eagle Ridge Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Westminster at 10:30 a.m. on January 13th. As for The Academy, they will be playing at home against Peak to Peak at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
