The Cross County Cougars put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past Wisner-Pilger 52-22 at home. The result was nothing new for Cross County, who have now won eight games by 30 points or more so far this season.
Among those leading the charge was Ashton Seim, who rushed for 98 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Another player making a difference was Lucas Jacobsen, who threw for 59 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
Wisner-Pilger's loss came despite strong showings from Logan Nelson and Dayton Gentrup. Nelson gained 73 total yards and two touchdowns, while Gentrup rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Cross County's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-0. As for Wisner-Pilger, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4.
Cross County's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Perkins County at 6:00 p.m. on October 27th. Wisner-Pilger does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
