Eastern has gone a perfect 8-0 against Clinton Prairie recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Comets will challenge the Gophers at 7:00 p.m. Eastern is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
On Friday, everything came up roses for Eastern against Sheridan as the squad secured a 47-18 victory. With the Comets ahead 30-2 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Eastern's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Pickett led the charge by rushing for 172 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Pickett has posted since back in October of 2024. Another signal caller making a difference was Gibson Eagle, who threw for 180 yards and two TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Eastern was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 284 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive matchups.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Eastern's defense and their five sacks. Leading the way was Izaiah Simpson with two. Eastern received some extra help from Adam Duchateau, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, Clinton Prairie played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Carroll, falling 51-12. The Gophers have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Eastern will need to focus on slowing down Alex King, one of several Clinton Prairie players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 74 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one score on the ground.
Clinton Prairie now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Eastern, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Eastern has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 180.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Clinton Prairie struggles in that department as they've been averaging 157 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Eastern against Clinton Prairie in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 49-15 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
