The Cypress Creek Coyotes pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 75-57 to Wiregrass Ranch. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cypress Creek in their matchups with Wiregrass Ranch: they've now lost seven in a row.
Several Coyotes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caleb Edmonds, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Manuel Castro, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds.
Wiregrass Ranch's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Roque, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Roque has scored all season. KJ Smith was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Cypress Creek has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Wiregrass Ranch, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-2.
Cypress Creek will head out on the road to take on Pasco at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Wiregrass Ranch won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Gainesville at 3:00 p.m. on January 13th. Gainesville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 166th, while Wiregrass Ranch is ranked 47th).
