The Avon Grove Charter Wolves were the 58-56 winner over Varsity Opponent when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Avon Grove Charter took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Varsity Opponent on Thursday. Avon Grove Charter just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Several Wolves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Xavier London, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. Kamran Masih was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Avon Grove Charter bumped their record down to 3-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Varsity Opponent, their win bumped their record up to 243-894-2.
Avon Grove Charter will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Early College at 5:00 p.m. on January 12th. Early College presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Avon Grove Charter in their respective states (Early College is ranked 42nd in Delaware, while Avon Grove Charter is ranked 255th in Pennsylvania). As for Varsity Opponent, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sumter Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sumter Christian is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
