The Westside Christian Academy Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Heritage Christian Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westside Christian Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Heritage Christian will be coming in after a defeat.
Westside Christian Academy had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Lake Ridge Academy by a score of 60-48 on Tuesday.
Trent Douglass was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Nate Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Heritage Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by HEARTS for Jesus Christ at home and fell 73-37.
Westside Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Heritage Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Westside Christian Academy beat Heritage Christian 54-42 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westside Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
