Branford had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They really took it to the Oak Hall Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 50-18 victory. The Buccaneers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since January 4th (when they won 51-15).
Branford found their leader in sophomore Amyah James, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Synniah Watkins, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.
Oak Hall's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Coming up, Branford will venture away from home to challenge Countryside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on the 21st. As for Oak Hall, they will welcome Lafayette at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
