Page has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Southeast Guilford Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Page suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Northern Guilford 76-44. Page was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-23.
Page's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Hattie Sloyan, who scored 20 points along with two steals, and Sutton Sherrill who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Sherrill continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, Southeast Guilford entered their tilt with Western Guilford with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Southeast Guilford narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Western Guilford 55-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Southeast Guilford has posted yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southeast Guilford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jasmin Riggs, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Stevens, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten steals.
Page has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Southeast Guilford, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6.
Page beat Southeast Guilford 56-48 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Page since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
