There's no place like home for the Grenada Chargers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They strolled past South Panola with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 63-47. This was payback for Grenada, who suffered a 76-72 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Leading Grenada to victory were Jarques Perry and Caleb Howard. Perry dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds, while Howard dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Perry hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Kelton Jones, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Grenada's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for South Panola, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Grenada will head out on the road to challenge Olive Branch at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Panola, they will be playing at home against Center Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Center Hill presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Panola in Mississippi (Center Hill is ranked 87th, while South Panola is ranked 238th).
