The Palm Springs Indians had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let Temescal Canyon onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Thursday. Two seems to be a good number for Palm Springs as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Kimberly Rodriguez-Torres and
Nevaeh Alvarez, who scored both of Palm Springs' goals. The pair have combined for a total of eight so far this season.
Palm Springs is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2-2 record this season. As for Temescal Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6-2.
Palm Springs will face off against Oak Park at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Palm Springs' defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Oak Park's offense will have their work cut out for them. Temescal Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
