After two weeks on the road, Pleasant Ridge is heading back home. On Friday they will take on Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] . Pleasant Ridge are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the match prepared for a fight.
After a dominant victory in their game two weeks ago, Pleasant Ridge were humbled last Friday. They lost to Maur Hill Prep-Mount Academy by a decisive 22-38 margin. Pleasant Ridge got a solid performance out of senior Colton Comer, who rushed for 41 yards and 2 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. Comer has been a consistent playmaker for Pleasant Ridge as this was the 5th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, after a disappointing six points in their last contest, Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] made sure to put some points up on the board against Horton. Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] were fully in charge, breezing past Horton 36-0. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 22-0.
Riverside [Wathena/Elwood]'s win lifted them to 2-5 while Pleasant Ridge's loss dropped them down to 4-3. We'll see if Riverside [Wathena/Elwood]'s success rolls on or if Pleasant Ridge are able to steal their positive momentum.
