The Brawley Wildcats lost against the Central Spartans back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Brawley lost to Central on the road by a decisive 45-29 margin. Brawley has not had much luck with Central recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Brawley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eric Flores, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Flores, who scored six points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than David Lopez, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lopez has scored all season. Daimaggio Wyatt was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Brawley has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Central, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Brawley and Indio will face off at 5:30 p.m. on December 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Indio presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Brawley in California (Indio is ranked 438th, while Brawley is ranked 929th). Central is on the road again on Thursday and play against Calipatria.
