It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Holy Trinity ultimately got the result it was hoping for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Holy Cross 40-38. Holy Cross can consider this payback for the 14-21 defeat they dealt Holy Trinity the last time the teams encountered one another.
Holy Trinity's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 40 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Holy Cross couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 40-0 heading into the break. The other side of the ball was dominant for Holy Trinity in the second half, holding Holy Cross to a measly 0 points. The victory bumped Holy Trinity's record up to 3-1. Holy Cross are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-4.
Next week Holy Trinity take on St. John the Baptist at 1:30 PM. St. John the Baptist took a loss in their last contest and are no doubt out to reverse Holy Trinity's good fortune. As for Holy Cross, they will face off against Kellenberg Memorial. Holy Cross stagger into the match hobbled by four consecutive losses while Kellenberg Memorial skip in buoyed by four consecutive wins.
