They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Keystone Heights 62-23 at home. Given Hawthorne's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Keystone Heights is ranked 486th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hawthorne's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from De' Mya Adams, who scored 20 points along with five steals. The match was Adams' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zakena Ealy, who scored 11 points along with seven steals.
Hawthorne pushed their record up to 3-0 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Keystone Heights, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Hawthorne will play host again and welcome Providence School, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence School will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. Keystone Heights' road trip will continue as they head out to face St. Johns Country Day at 6:00 p.m. on December 18th. One thing working in St. Johns Country Day's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups.
