Wahoo was the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. They were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Nebraska City 54-19. The margin was wide but not a surprise since Wahoo are ranked far ahead of Nebraska City in the MaxPreps state rankings.
Wahoo's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 42 points in the first half. Nebraska City came up with 6 to make it 42-6 heading into the break. Wahoo were outperformed in the second half 12-13 but had enough in reserve to walk away with the game. The win bumped their record up to 1-0. The loss dropped Nebraska City's record to 1-0.
Next week, Wahoo take on Aurora at 7:00 PM. Nebraska City will be defending their home turf for the first time next week when they go up against Platteview at 7:00 PM.
