The Summertown Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season. They blew past Perry County 56-31. The victory was nothing new for Summertown as they're now sitting on five straight.
Karlie Campbell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 12 points along with four steals. The game was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. Braley Burleson was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Perry County still got an impressive performance from Maddi Wright, who scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Wright scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Kristan Duncan, who scored six points.
Summertown is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Perry County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Summertown won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cascade at 4:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Cascade will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while Summertown is ranked 19th). As for Perry County, they will look to defend their home court on January 5th against Collinwood at 6:00 p.m.
