In what's become a running theme this season, the Blue Valley Northwest Huskies gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bishop Miege 66-38 at home. Given Blue Valley Northwest's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Bishop Miege is ranked 158th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Joey Matteoni continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Fritz, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Blue Valley Northwest pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Bishop Miege, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Coincidentally, Blue Valley Northwest and Bishop Miege will both be playing Blue Valley West the next time they take the court. Blue Valley Northwest will head out to face Blue Valley West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Bishop Miege will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
