Volleyball Recap: Belton's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

If Belton was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Waco on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers fell 3-1 to the Troy Trojans on Monday. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Belton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-12, 25-14, 29-27.

Cadence Negron was nothing short of spectacular for Troy: she had 35 digs and six assists. Negron has been hot recently, having posted 26 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Belton's defeat dropped their record down to 30-13. As for Troy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-11 record this season.

Belton will face off against Kaufman at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Troy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
