Justin Leathers Delivers Best Performance of Season
Southridge was led to victory by Justin Leathers, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Leathers rushed for 177 yards and four touchdowns, and also threw for 28 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He didn't just play on offense: he also made two total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended a pass.
The win (which was Southridge's third in a row) raised their record to 6-2. They and Forest Park are set to duel on Friday.

Grant Boyd Goes Supernova in Pike Central Loss
Pike Central was sadly handed a defeat on Friday, but Grant Boyd did his best to prevent it. Boyd was dynamite, rushing for 126 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.
For the year, Boyd has averaged 18.6 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after eight games last season, he had three rushing touchdowns. This year he is already up to 12.

While North Posey might've come up empty on Friday, Jed Galvin wasn't going down without a fight. Southridge had no answer to Galvin as he rushed for 39 yards.
If history really does repeat itself, Galvin might just drop another big game when he faces off against Pike Central on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Galvin saw the Chargers), he rushed for 187 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries.
