Union City is 1-9 against Cambridge City Lincoln since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Indians will square off against the Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Union City is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They put the hurt on Monroe Central with a sharp 15-1 victory. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.
Kierra Thacker tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brianna Williams was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with seven RBI, one run, and one double. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Oaklee Reichard, who went 3-for-5 with four runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Cambridge City Lincoln brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They blew past Randolph Southern 18-2 on Monday. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Lexi McPheeters was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. McPheeters was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Paige Pitcock, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Samantha Bell was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.
Union City moved to 9-12 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Cambridge City Lincoln, their win bumped their record up to 5-13.
Union City couldn't quite finish off Cambridge City Lincoln in their previous matchup last Saturday and fell 9-7. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
